There's this new club at our school called the Gay-Straight Alliance Club.

Can you see where this would be a problem?

And I think my psychology teacher has a point when he asks about the purpose of a club like that. What is it going to help, when the only people who go already accept different sexualities? That IS who it's advertised to, and homophobes won't even go near the club. So all the club does is solidify the acceptance. It doesn't add to the numbers.

Why are people so afraid?

Ummm... my high school has that club. It provides support for people, and they also try to get people to be more tolerant. Even if they don't get people to be more accepting, at least there will be a place for LGBT students to get together.

re:
Hmm...ours wasn't really that publicized. The only time I knew about it was when we got our yearbooks and I saw their photo on the "Clubs" page.

Hahaha, yeah! +Hilary Duff is actually a decent actor, in my opinion.

like randy said..
They're usually there to be an accepting, encouraging atmosphere for LGBT's. And they usually do thinks like promote awareness and stuff, too.
At least that's what they do on my campus.
